Automatic door for coop

Hi, All
I would like to add an automatic door to an older small chicken coop that isn't tall enough to accomodate one. Is it possible to install it sideways?

That would be expensive though...
I would recommend a DIY automatic door.
You could probably set up a few laser sensors (quite cheaply).

Check out the pullet shut door. It's easy to install, works very well, and you don't need the extra height that you do with some doors.

then hook it up to a home made mechanical door..

You could use a few electric motors to pull a light wooden slab/plate up a channel leaving the open door.....
