Automatic Door Help

We bought this automatic door for our coop almost 7 years ago. Recently the cord that pulls the door up broke. My husband just replaced it with fishing line but it snapped, any idea what material I should buy for the cord?

Fishing line should hold 5lbs without any issue. Maybe the door is getting stuck? Otherwise you can buy braided fishing line from amazon.

That's looks exactly like the model I bought recently, off Amazon. The company is from Canada and has a very public response history to handle all number of issues and helping folks with the doors..... I wonder if they'd help you, send you the newer "Kevlar string" they advertise now adays?????

I'd think it's worth an email to them - at the very least. True?
