The Adapter was not intended for going from 4" to 3", but as an end piece to prevent spillage.
So you think that will not work?

Regardless of the angle, the rats and wild birds are going to be very grateful as will the pesticide manufacturers due to the frequent need to de louse your flock. Trust me, any angle and any fitting is going to be fine. In a few months you will be back asking how to deal with the rats that your "chickens" attracted.
