Automatic Turner issues

I don't think my automatic turner is working. I put eggs in yesterday evening, and it still in same position this morning (I have checked on it several times). So I took it out and set the eggs in there without the turner. This is my first time incubating eggs. The incubator has been set up for a few days to make sure it worked (works fine), but I didn't think to check the turner. Is there something I am forgetting to do with the turner? I simply plugged it in it doesn't hum or feel warm. Do you think the eggs will be ok since they were only in there for say 15 hours?
