average lifespan

I was wondering about the average lifespan of a broad breasted bronze turkey. We get some to raise and butcher but we keep 2-4 to walk around for the school groups to see them. The longest we've keep any of them around is a year and then we butcher them all, but what if we kept them for longer?????

If feed on a proper diet so they don't get the health problems they could last for some years, but most of the time they die with in the first year of their life.

Some friends here had there BB Bronze Tom for 4 years. A recent post some one said they had there Tom for 4 years and the female is 6 years old.

I would assume they used a 20 to 22 % ration, with allowing the Turkeys to wander around a bit.

Broad Breasted type turkeys aren't known for long lives, they get to heavy for their legs to support them.

What do you understand by proper diet?

I would only feed them 16% on a restricted amount of about 1lb a day per turkey and then let them free range all day long to get the rest of what they need, this will keep them in shape plus they will not gain too much weight too fast and have all the health problems like usual.​
