The coop and outdoor area have are fenced with another fence around that. There’s bird netting over the top. Where I am at the biggest spreaders are zebra doves. We also have wild chickens that want to interact with ours. There are plenty of trees around, so birds don’t perch on the PVC pipe up there. If they did their feet would get stuck in netting, too. A couple have gotten caught and learned their lesson! I wear shoe covers when I enter.

That makes sense then. I thought if birds leave droppings through the mesh they can still spread it. I see the logic.
