Avian Flu precautions for free ranging?

We are currently rebuilding our coop and run.

There hadn’t been any new cases in near by states in over a month and our state had no cases yet.

We started a rebuild and the flock is free ranging in the mean time.
Completely uncovered.

We just got our first cases over the weekend about 80-110 miles away.

I had a couple questions..

Is there a way to sanitize the ground/yard where they are free ranging? Where we can clean it down and they can go back to the area and be able to peck.
& In the same area we can set up a covered small area but also make sure there is no contaminates.

Thankfully we haven’t seen many wild birds in the last week or so due to the extreme heat of 103-111.

Should I be very worried of them even going out to free range tomorrow ?

Thanks!

Specifically for avian flu, the germs do die off after some amount of time. The time is shorter in hot weather, longer in cool weather.

So you could set up fencing and a cover to keep out wild birds, then wait before letting the chickens back in. But that will not work fast enough to be ready by tomorrow, or even by next week.
