Avian influenza found in South Carolina

I can't were flip flops around my birds. They attack my toes like they are meal worms.
This was my exact thoughts! Mare has all soft billed adorable fluffy butts, well, except for gorgeous little Rona with her extra fluffy butt 😍
I've got an aggressive little Serama hen that enjoys attacking feet 😵 Plus fire ants, grease ants, etc a bunch of ants that feel like a hot match on my sensitive feet skin 😢

Same! I got a taller pair and then a short pair, in the same pattern. I ended up liking my chicken boots too much 😂 That is a really smart practice though. People with sick birds aren't announcing the fact that they have a flock that's infected with something that's only treatable. Doesn't take much to bring it home to your own flock and there are no do overs with some of the diseases that can spread that easily 😟
That is exactly why I have several bio security measures including regular blood testing and quarantine new birds

I need to get some of these sluggers.

My chicken shoes are The North Face flip flops. 🤣
I used to wear flip flops but my feet got so dirty I had to wash off at the well every time I visited the ladies.

I keep a tote in the shed by the coop with my coop shoes--then I only have to walk about 4 ft in the coop shoes
