Avian net - minimum mesh to prevent escaping?

Hello all!

I had to separate my flocks to prevent fighting, and now my roos are jumping over a 6 foot tall fence to go back to their old coop and girls, so I was thinking of covering their new pen with a net. We don't have predators here, so the netting would be just to prevent escape. What mesh would be ideal? I've been recommended 6x6in, but can't they go through this? Maybe 5x5in?

I use this and love it!!

I use bird netting, the kind you buy to cover fruit trees. It comes in 7 X 100’ rolls. It’s fabric-like and stretchy. Our kitten used to walk on it and it would sag, but tighten back up. It has lasted years thru ice, snow, sun, and pets walking on it.

Re above post, I just checked what we have and it’s actually called wildlife netting. We got it at Lowes.

Looks like this stuff:

Since predators are not a problem, it would be fine. Freezing rain or snow will take it down.

Really?
Where in this world are you located?
I'm in southeast Brazil! (and hopefully managed to add this to my profile, thanks for the tip!) But I wasn't clear enough, sorry. We do have predators, of course, even jaguars, but none that I know of that would be an overhead concern during the day to a full grown chicken if the aviary is covered with a net that a chicken wouldn't go through (I mean, if a roo can't fly through the mesh, a harpy surely can't either, right? They're HUGE!). Our main concern regarding that is at night, when they are safely tuck inside their predator-proof coops 🙏

Max, I'd go smaller.
Perfect, I though 6 was indeed too big. I just ordered a 4x4in net just like the one @SueT recommended, I'll post pics here when it is up!

Thank you so much everybody!
