Yes that definitely looks like pox in the beginning. The lesions will go through the changes from white to tan to bloody and then brown or darker. No treatment is necessary, although some do use betadine on the scabs to help them dry up, but not necessary. Any disturbance of the scabs can spread it. Any scabs around eyes can cause eye infection, so it's a good idea to use some antibiotic ointment in the eyes if that happens. Terramycin from feed stores is good, or bacitracin or plain neosporin.
