I'm new here and couldn't find anything on the upper age limit for Avian Pox vaccine. Most info. stated vaccinating baby chicks. My girls are 17 weeks today. One, my Barred Rock, is showing signs of pox - small white spots on ears. Began two days ago. This morning she sneezed a couple times (though that may have been because she was eating her oats so quickly). I'm concerned and am planning to get some oxytetracyclin powder today just in case. I'll also pick up some ointment for her spots.

Should I vaccinate my other 3 girls? They show no sign of pox. Are they too old for the vaccine?

Thanks much! Love this forum!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Went to the local farm supply today with a list gleaned from BYC. The folks there were very helpful, too. So, my girls are back on medicated feed (had just weaned them off about a week ago - wouldn't ya know) & recommended antibiotics for possible secondary infections, as my Barred Rock, Professor, started sneezing, too (possible Wet Pox). Dabbed some Blu-kote on her sores and fed all the girls grapes (their favorite). Still thinking about the vaccination idea for the other three. Thanks, again for all your great advice here. What a wonderful group of people! :)
