Hi. Working on quick pen for appox 8 mo old trio.

This is the golf course mesh I have. And the temp pen it's going onto.

No trouble with this mesh with chickens and peafowl so far.

Don't want to dig a hold to put support post. I have some trees nearby I could tether something to...

I have a tree in the middle of my pen that I used 3/8" cable with cable clamps around and then attached "tails" to it with more clamps down to my fence at 8 or so points. (so it looks like a circus tent) still working on finishing it. So far I have it attached with heavy duty zip ties.

Its temporary (lol) if I cable around trees for a couple months, it won't damge the tree, do you think?

I would think if you put some rubber or something under the cable it shouldn't damage it. My tree is dead & topped off so I wasn't worried about that.

That's really permanent! I have a ton of bamboo, I might tie 4 10 footers together and tie down 4 directions. I just do not want to have wind blowing it down. The mesh is pretty heavy, but I wonder if it's heavy enough.

I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of weeks. Now it's deadline. Ugh.

If you notice in my pic there are guy lines that run across the pen. I am using a 1/8 inch rope or cord that runs across and makes a spider web to support the netting. You can just prop up a pole and not bury it, the pressure of the net will hold it in place. Put a small bucket or pail on top of the pole to keep it from either going through the netting or tearing a hole in the netting.

Can you bang some tall, heavy duty t-posts into the ground instead of digging holes? They usually do a pretty good job even without concrete for a while.

Do you have the net secured to the rope/cable? Or just loose over it?
