Aviary Net vs. Fencing

We are looking at putting our hens in a large dog kennel to keep them safe from hawks. We are wondering what the best option for the top is? Any tips, suggestions are appreciated.

I have deer netting over the top and the sides of my dog kennel, SERIOUSLY best thing ever lol. What I got was 7' tall and 100' long for basically $20 from Home Depot. The holes are small enough that a snake has already gotten stuck so yay

And I'd really stick with deer netting, not bird netting. It's sooo much cheaper
