I have a coop situated in a large area I want to protect my chickens from hawks and vultures, their is about 3-6 vultures that live in an old barn structure that isn't used in my a neighbor's property. I see them perched on it every single day. And they circle over us all day every day

My question is I want to enclose the area and have been pondering my options.
I want to use the structure that is already up. So I was thinking making a moveable structure I could take on and off with 2×4 And hardware cloth attached when I came across aviary netting.
Which would seem like the perfect thing to use in my case. Is this too good to be true?? Has anybody used it. Is it functional to keep put hawks and other prey birds?? I'm looking at a 1" heavy duty aviary netting. I enclosed a pic of my coop and fenced in area.

I use a 2in high tensile bird netting (kind of like this https://www.amazon.com/Aviary-Netting-Heavy-Knotted-Poultry/dp/B06X1CBBL4?th=1). My run is 25x85 or so, it was a pain to work with & I have to go out when it snows & knock the snow off or it will weigh it down & it will collapse. Not sure what you get for snow but that's definitely the main drawback.

We have a lot of hawks around & no one has tried. It's got a 245lb burst strength so I doubt they'd go through it, if they tried I think they'd just get tangled up in it. It's definitely not predator proof, I'm sure a raccoon could chew through it & little critters can fit through the netting. Our birds are locked up at night & I work from home so it works for us.

We had to cut it around trees & put it back together with hog rings, worked great. It's held up by very tall posts in the middle that you can kind of see in the pic. It's hog ringed to the top of the 6 foot wire fence, stapled to the wood fence & zip tied to the parts that abut a chain link fence.

I covered my run with the netting you use to cover fruit trees. Far from predator proof but I’ve never had a hawk try to go through it, fairly sure they can see it. As far as vultures go I’m fairly sure they won’t mess with full grown chickens. There constantly around my house and we’ve never had a problem.
