Hi All,

I currently have three (3) aviaries that I'm looking to re-design with 2" of gravel/pea stone on the bottom topped with 2"-4" of sand. From what I've been reading this sounds like the best solution for controlling mud and adding a nice look to the aviary.

The only thing I'm missing here is what type of sand should I be looking at using?

- Masonry Sand
- Golf Sand/Fill Sand
- Play Sand
...ect

Hoping to hear feedback from others in the forum :)

Hi donnie. Im lucky to have sand all over. Any of those sands would work for you.Pick the one that you like. I do find that even with our pure white snow sand here that I still have to add a inch or two once or twice a year. They seem to turn it into dirt and then mud if i dont. Long ago before I did this I would just turn the soil in the pen over.Im all for the best easiest good looking way. Hope this helps.
