I saw a formation of fighters today but couldn’t get a picture ‘cause I was driving. They were wonderful.

I did get a USCG helicopter:

OHHHHHHH. I'm embarrassed. It is sort of hard to distinguish, though, because the shrike and later missiles like the HARM were based off of the Sparrow frame.... Still embarrassed. I have been reading a bit about F-4Gs tho so maybe that's why... .

On closer scrutiny it proves that I am indeed dumb; navy Phantoms never did SEAD.

Oh Lord, an aviation thread. And I say that nicely. My son and his friend are such huge plane nerds, they can tell you everything about planes. Son's friend can even tell you what plane is flying overhead without looking at it. His dad has his pilot's license and they live next to our little county airport. They fly all the time and they will go over our house and tip their wings at us. We go to the Cleveland Air Show every year and the Blue Angels fly all the time. We've been to our fair share of museums as well. Saw the Enola Gay and the Blackbird at the Smithsonian and the Bockscar at Wright Patterson. Here are some pictures, I know I have more somewhere
