I am having a dead avocado tree taken down on my property and I was wondering if I could use the chips in my chicken run? I know that avocados are a BIG no no for chickens but would the wood chips and leaves from the tree be bad for them? I was wondering because it's free and why waste it when I can use it right? Any info is greatly appreciated!

I think you have asked a great question...........but I do not know the answer

I would not use them - the leaves for sure as the birds will pick at them............the chips, just cause I am a worry wart that way.

Hopefully someone who knows the answer will see this.

Avocado is poisonous to many animals and birds. I would not use its matter for any kind of use regarding our critters well being . Hope it's not to late for this response to be considered .

The fruit is toxic(skin, flesh, seed???),
but I don't think the dead wood chipped up would be.
