Await the first egg ever!

Hello all! My pullets are 22 weeks old. They're my first chickens and I've had them since week 1. I've got one SLW, One EE, two Barnevelders and one brown barred chicken which I guess is maybe a barred rock?? Anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting our first egg ever! Days are now about 11.5 hours long and I would guess we'll get that first egg with in the next month.

this little guy looked like me when I found my first eggs.. I was so proud of them, these are them. I've had my girls since 2016.. lol, I have a FB group called GV Homesteading, questions, tips and tricks. took a bit of scrolling, but I found them.

They’re so pretty! That one on the left looks like maybe a black sex link.

I see some color in the combs but no waddles yet. Those combs will start really growing and there will be noticeable wattles, likely, before they lay, so I bet you have a few more weeks.

I haven't seen them squatting. My EE is getting red.

The one that you think might be a sexlink is brown and black stripped. Is that typical of a sexlink?

That EE is so gorgeous!

when you hold your hand a foot or below right above the girls backs, many girls will squat into the ground immediately. They’ll do this a little bit before they start to lay. They may. It all squat but I bet you’ll have some that do.

Black Sex Links can look quite different, if you search you’ll see a bunch of various and may find some that match your girl. Post another photo of her whole body when you can!
