While the only know reference to a chicken in the Gospels is found
in John, we like to think that if the Gospel of Luke was a little longer
we might of had a picture something like this:

A Merry & Holy Christmas To All

That's interesting. What denomination did you grow as?

Disclaimer: Since I'm the author of this post I feel it would be on topic to discuss
the various beliefs of the birth of Christ in the manger, especially since so little is
written about this.

I do believe various fowl and birds would be present.

Lutheran, but we lived in the Virgin Islands. Three Kings day is a BIG DEAL there. Christmas Day was the more church/religious part of the holliday season and three kings day was more of the drink, party and gift giving day of the season.

Instead of leaving stockings by the fireplace for Santa (fireplace??), you would leave grass in your shoes by the front door. The three kings would stop by and leave small gifts in your shoes- the grass was for their camels. I guess that's sort of like a cross between santa and the Easter Bunny.
