Aww, I just lost one...

Picked up the chicks (1.5 weeks) from a friend last night and I had one that seemed less active. Well, it died in my hands this morn. Seemed to have trouble getting a breath and then upon death, fluid came from it's beak...Any ideas? what should I watch for with the rest. Didn't seem to have excess diahrrea...They have a heat lamp and shredded paper for bedding. Help.

I'm so sorry. I don't know enough about chick health to make any recommendations, but I've lost a baby bird before and I know it sucks (kudos, though, for being with your little one-- that's hard). I hope all the rest are happy and healthy!
