AWW! There is...

I love bats! They eat mosquitoes plus they are fun to watch! DH and I were in bed watching TV a couple of weeks ago. I saw something swoop in through the BR door with the cats in hot pursuit. He said what the heck???? I said "bat" and head to the garage for a fishing net. I come back and he is chasing it around the room saying "here bat, here bat...it's OK baby....come here..." trying to catch it with BARE hands.......we finally caught it - in the NET and let it go outside. Since that evening, there is a bat that he sees hanging from the rafters in the garage every morning when he goes out to start my truck for me to go to work! It also poops on HIS Jeep!!!

My DH and I love to sit in our pool at night and watch the bats dive down for a drink of water and to chase the bugs. I think they are amazing creatures.

I wish we had more I saw them at my dad's friends chasing bugs their adorable really people think they are ugly but they really are not.

I live near a bat bridge in the Austin area (not the Congress Ave Bridge) and they come out in swarms and look like smoke in the distance. When I see them in the neighborhood, they make me smile. I love the way they fly, twisting and turning in the air to catch the bugs.

Our local newspaper just put out a warning about bats, 13 were found to be rabid last year. I LOVE them, have a bat house but putting it up is a problem . . .we did borrow a tall ladder though, so might get it up before we have to take it back!!!! Skunks and Foxes are bad for rabies too, as is raccoons, but the bat really seems to take the brunt of the rabies scare. My husband has been terrified of them, always thought they would get tangled up in his hair . . .that was many moons ago, and I keep telling him the problem has "disappeared" . . .hee hee hee.
