My BB turkeys from Nancy hatched last week (only 2). Yesterday I had light Brahma chicks hatching. I put them in the brooder with the turkeys for a little while until I had a chance to set up their own. Unlike bigger chickens, my little turkeys (who are about 3 times their size) just cuddled up with them! I almost hated to separate them, but I don't know if the chicks can handle the higher protein turkey food.

they seem much "flock"ier than chickens. Chickens form cliques I noticed, but turkeys are very flock focused. You can herd them like sheep. (though I am sure I look like an idiot when I do)

Yes they are. I love mine. They sit on my sholder now later on not sure about that . What is flockier ? HAHA
Enjoy your flock mine have me trained

I raised my turkeys and chicks togehter on medicated chick starter and had no problems. I have adult turkeys, geese, ducks and chickens all living together and feed them Purina Flock raiser and everyine looks great and gets a long. At least most days - some times the hens like to peck at the turkeys new tail feathers - but all the boys need to do is stop struting and put their tails down!

I did have to separate my rooster though because the turkeys attacked him.

I agree my poults are so sweet. Now they are free ranging with my flock and they don't pick on anybody. I always keep an eye on them though because I worry that the chickens will pick on my poor docile babies. They haven't so far.

Also when they see any human they all come flapping and running up to us. Even my 11 month old counts and when we're outside he has an entourage of 12 poults following him around as he toddles and stumbles around the yard!

I bought a trio of BB in April. Had bought a little banty at the same time. Kept them together. My Tom is now 23# and the little banty still hangs with them. He is so little that he runs around their legs. It is a funny sight.
