I have a week-old Ayam Cemani chick and a possible 4 week old Russian Orloff. They were given to me to raise and I'm afraid I cannot add either of them to my flock if they are roosters. I cannot even confirm the brown chicken is a Russian Orloff. I've never raised chicks before but I currently have 22 hens in my coop. They both have large scales where the spur would be, and the Orloff has yet to grow any sign of a comb. The Ayam does not kick for long during the flip test, and He has a small comb. The Russian has a large tail but I'm not sure if that's just a pullet thing. I'm not a professional so I cant vent test these chicks and I need to know their gender as soon as possible. Any signs I should look out for referring to the breed alone?
