Hi everyone! I was given a tiny silver duckwing OEGB hen (smaller than my homing pigeons) and she was laying and I wanted to cross her with something to get some chicks from her. All my roosters are much much larger than she and I didn’t want them to hurt her so I figured out how to do artificial insemination and crossed her with my langshan/turken mix rooster that is many times her size. He escaped his pen and I wasn’t able to catch him so I then used my Ayam Cemani rooster. She choked trying to eat a large bug and died but I was able to get 4 fertile eggs from her and hatch them using a Rhode Island Red broody. I ended up with 3 black Ayam Cemani crosses and 1 silver looking chick from my langshan/turken mix rooster. They’re so tiny!! They’re really high strung and easily spooked though. Does anybody know what these are going to look like? Since I figured out artificial insemination my crossbreeding options are nearly endless now!!
