So I have an ayam cenami rooster and I got him back in may. He really is a asshole so I have to keep him separated. I spent a decent amount for him but I’m ready to say bye. I hatched eggs and have leghorn ayam mix and a fibro Easter egger who has the ayam genes. I also have a ayam hen and she is a brat too…This little rooster is sweet and is going to be beautiful with a golden outline on his feathers…

Do you think this baby rooster would still be able to pass on the fibro gene? I thought I would love ayams but eh.

1st two pics is the “fibro Easter egger rooster” second is the ayam mixes third is ayam hen

Last is my mature rooster

Well any ayam mix could pass on fibromelanism, especially if bred to another fibro bird. It just takes selection every generation. If you're looking to start a flock I'd recommend using at least a couple more unrelated birds. I'd love to see what you hatch, keep us posted.

I wanted to breed the fibro gene into my blue Ameraucanas!

I'd also be interested in how the pullets lay, since leghorns are such heavy layers and ayam aren't if you could breed to get the best of both that would be the ideal bird. Please do keep us updated!
I’m interested to, in my mind I have them laying as much as an Ameraucana…. I just don’t know how long I can hold on to my pure rooster, he’s such a jerk lol.

I would get rid of the rooster and get a better one. It is not super rare anymore. I got 8 free Ayam roosters 4.5 months old couple day ago. I gave away 3 for friend for pot, kept 2 quiet possible for the project, and all the noisy one end up in the freezer. I have seen 4 months old pair around $40 and egg $25 a dozen few weeks ago on Craigslist. The Ayam rooster is pretty light weigh 3.1-3.8 lbs at 4.5 month old. It is similar like Leghorn in size.
