I think it will be a long time before these chickens become readily available in the U.S.A. The outrageous price of the Ayam Cemani in this country causes most people to laugh. I have been drooling over the Ayam Cemani for a long time now, but could never justify the current prices to myself. I hope someday they will become more reasonably priced. Have you ever heard of
Laughing Chickens? If not, then you need to check out this video

and yes, this is an actual breed. I have yet to find any in the U.S.A. but they have laughing contests in Indonesia and winning birds can bring $100,000. dollars or more... unbelievable right!!

Well I hesitate to share too much but I will say I'm working on a ciemi flock.

Are Ciemi and Cemani different breeds? Ayam Cemani chicks run about $2,000 to $2,500 dollars each. There are hybrids available for far less, but I am talking about pure bred Ayam Cemani.

You are right ayam cemani are the breed I'm working on.
Cemani are cool too, but different. Here is one of my chicks
