Thank you. Any suggestions for where I can find a reputable site for pullets? I live in northern Illinois. Was hoping to go pick up the chickens to save on shipping cost and stress on the girls.

The nearest hatcheries near you are Cacklehatchery in Missouri, Ideal and McMurray are in Iowa and Mt Healthy in Ohio, I don't know how they all handle started pullets.

I bought from her and it was horrendous. She got mad at me because when I sent money through zelle it froze on her end and she started panicking and becoming hostile bossing me around being disrespectful calling me an idiot I spent $140 on 10 Welsh Harleyquin ducklings and. She was threatening me and saying she'll be furious with me if it freezes her account again in the same day. She also communicated how she got into an argument screaming at another client who she had the same issue with the day before. She gave me a panick attack . I was excited for a good deal through Facebook and I dealt with it the hard way . I learned my lesson and got the 140 back from my bank dont make the same mistake I did

They are a scam website. Stole almost $400 from me. 4/24/2025 I tried to buy geese; phone contact bad so they started texting. They requested further money for shipping containers. They only wanted Zelle.
Sadder but wiser.

THIS IS A SCAM. 5/9/25 -I thought I was doing the right thing and asking questions, but this group is good. I dealt with a guy named Justin Parker. His Venmo account is Justin-Parker-9304 and he is a snake. He originally asked for 125.00 for 5 pullets and this included shipping. Then after I sent him the money, he sent a request for a refundable deposit on the shipping box. Sent a picture, with details and all. I bought into it and sent him another 100.00. Then he asked for 100.00 for insurance on the shipping. I said ship without ins, if they arrive dead, Ill deal with it. 2 days later he said he can't ship without ins. He sent me his web page aylabackyardpoultry.com and that looked right. Soooo, I sent him the 100.00 for shipping. Then he said he didn't get the 100.00. I sent him the same Venmo confirmation, but he said he couldn't ship it because he didn't get the 100.00. Now he says he is done dealing with me and blocked me. I had a phone number to reach him 828-414-4103 but he blocked me from calling that too. 325.00 lost!!! He wasn't "verbal", but he has my money and won't send it back. I took the black marker out of my junk draw and wrote sucker on my forehead.

I would recommend looking for local breeders on Facebook. There is Poultry Farm Wisconsin and probably local Illinois pages too.
