He's never really dealt with them up to this point and there were a few holes so he thought they'd be ok overnight. I guess he was just trying to be quick. Dealing with me being sick and our one year old. I dont know! I just hope the rest make it ok.

wow, tough lesson. we all have those.
i didnt see how old are they?!? either way maybe keep them close in the house w fresh air and all those electolytes ideas. gatorade has sugar i think, but it on the right track w electrolytes.
those survivors are really survivors!!
good luck!

Thanks everyone. I understand other peoples pain now and yes it is definitely a hard learned lesson! Everyone seems to be picking up. My larger girls are all starting to move around a bit more normally. Theyre almost 4 months old. They youngest are about 6-8 wks and they're starting to drink and move a little. Will be keeping a very close eye in them all day. Can't stop kicking myself though.

I know. I'm just too empathetic for my own good sometimes. The other girls are doing much better now. I think it really was lack of oxygen though I will keep an eye out to make sure nothing further develops. Thanks again.

It was all an accident. It honestly sounds like something my husband would do.

Doesn't make it feel any better though, does it? My heart goes out to you.

I was away one weekend, and my parents were hear taking care of my three boys, who were supposed to be taking care of the animals. Well, the boys weren't paying attention, and tragedy struck one of my ducks. It was horrible being so far away, and not be able to take care of my girl. She died the next day. I made myself sick with the, what ifs!? Don't let yourself go there. Enjoy the chicks that you have. They will bring you joy. I pray they are doing better. And give your hubby a hug.

I'm sorry, it was an accident. I would be real devastated too. Stupidity has struck me too several times in my life and it's tough, but at some point you let it go, and go on with your life , only smarter.
