B.O. rooster laid an egg. so I was wrong.

OH, yes! I ordered all pullets!
I paid for all pullets, but I really did not expect all pullets.
They told me that I would get one rooster for every 10 hens. So, I assumed that I would get 2.5 roosters, rounding up (no one wants 1/2 of a bird) therefore I expected at least 3 roosters.
no roosters though.
I also didn't think they'd all make it to me alive...or survive the brooding part...or the dogs...or anything.
So now I guess I should expect 2 dozen eggs a day.
That is really a lot of eggs.

(maybe I have a late bloomer rooster. I dunno. we will see. as long as he stays quiet...)

I guess that I got what I paid for. Yea Ideal!

If I need a rooster I will borrow one.
Thanks everybody!

Ahh- I see. They tell you you'll likely get 1 roo for every 10 hens because they guarantee vent sexing at about 90%. They also say you can "have 1 roo for every 10 girls"- at least McMurray says that.
You got really lucky with whoever sexed your order!

If I were you- I'd skip using artificial light with them. You won't get as many eggs that way, and your birds will be healthier
