Well, we have 6 babies and 2 more pips...day 20. I've never had day 20 babies before...always day 21 so they were a big surprise. We had placed 2 eggs under our broody bantam cochin hen. One of them hatched this afternoon, but this is a first time mama and she kept pecking at it and wouldn't let it get back under her. We went ahead and put it in the brooder to avoid a dead chick. She still has one egg under her. Hopefully it will hatch...don't know if she'll take it. Here are a photo:

Thanks all...These are all bantam cochin babies...2 partridge, 1 red frizzle, 2 barred and 1 silver-laced. They are soooo much smaller than they look in photos.

It's amazing how much all the chicks like this "lovey". I throw it in the washing machine in between hatches cause they poop all over it. Who would think??
