Hi everyone.

I just found out that , evidently, MPC uses Meyer as their distributor..

Oh My...Im very concerned if this is true because of the Horrible experience with Meyer..

Babies were shipped out, for some reason, the babies ended up going back to Meyer..They sent it back out..

I got the babies..

No heat..1 spraddle leg..Lost that baby..

Lost another the 2nd day for whatever reason.. ALL babies had Pasty Butt which all were treated successfully even tho I lost the 2 babies for other reason. By this time I was very sad and MAD at the same time.

What I did have left were the Wrong species ..I ordered 3 Partridge cochins, got 3 Partridge Rocks..2 of them are the ones that didnt make it.

I swore I would NEVER use them again.

The next time, I got babies from Chickens For Backyards..OMG, those babies arrived so well packed and warm !

Unfortunately I couldnt use them this time around.

So...is it true that MPC uses Meyer for distribution??

Any good experiences if so??

I am VERY nervous about this, so any good news would help alot..

Thanks..

It is true...but many people have had great experiances with Meyer, so hang in there, and I'm sure they'll be fine!

I've used both MPC and Meyer.

MPC got my order exactly correct, but the quality of the birds, my rooster in particular, were a little lacking. My EE's from them were great, both lay blue eggs. My BO's are sweet and pretty, one was just broody and hatched a chick. My BR's are the ones I have trouble with, got two hens and a roo, and he's going to the stewpot soon.

My order from Meyer took an extra day to arrive, was missing a chick, one was sickly and died within a few days. They had good customer service and handled the missing chick well, but it was awful missing her - I only ordered exactly what I wanted, it was disappointing.

MPC was where I got my seven hens, as at the time it was the cheapest for small orders. All were healthy, well-packed, and all turned out to be female. The barred rock turned out on the small side (I suspect she's a bantam though I had ordered a standard) but other than that I had no problems with them. I wasn't looking for show quality, I just wanted healthy layers and I felt I did get that.

MPC is where I got my 5 chickens. They were shipped very quickly, packed nicely and very healthy. All 5 were girls as ordered, just one slip up, I ordered a dominique and got a barred rock. when I questioned them as I saw her comb developing, they immediately refunded my $ without my even asking.

Where did you get this information? MPC themselves told me that they get their chicks from outside hatcheries. My entire order was cancelled due to problems at Meyer, not MPC.
Nope MPC is a hatchery not a middlemen

I don't know whether they have their own birds and space at Meyer or just use what they have (birds and personnel), but MPC does ship from Meyer, in Polk, OH.
I've never ordered from Meyer, only from MPC, because I didn't know any better the first time around, but liked what I got from them, and liked their customer service, so stayed with them even after learning that.
I don't know whether Meyer changed last year's video or not, but toward the end of the video when they were showing some of the storage carts for boxed chicks, one cart had a sheet of paper attached that read MPC.
I'd heard good things about Meyer, and would guess that you had one of those rare bad incidences that can occur. I know nothing of their custormer service though, since I haven't ordered from them.
