Well, I have 11 baby ring necks that were born the other day. several of them were born with crooked toes. From what I have read here it seems that it took too long to hatch, which it did, probably due too humidity problems, so I will work on that problem in the future.
Most of them have straightened out with only one toe bent a little. But one isn't doing as well. he's doing better than at first. he was curl toed and splayed legs. Now he's got his legs under him and he's eating and drinking, but those toes are not straightening out.
Most of these I have intended to release on a friends property. He released a hen and rooster 2 years ago. Some thing got his hen and the rooster is all alone.
Anyway, for my curlyque, anyone else ever released a pheasant with this problem? Or should I keep him if he survives the next few weeks? I will put him down if he doesn't thrive, but I have a habit of not giving up too soon.
