Babies not growing, help!

Growing crumble, some layer crumble, kitchen scraps and garden greens. I have had bantams before and they still grew. She’s not growing. Weight feels normal for size. She eats like a pig!

You don't want to give chicks layer feed.

Every chick isn't going to make it to adulthood, very true.
Is she picking through these food choices, and not eating her grower diet? That can be fixed; otherwise, maybe she's just not going to do well for long.

I dont know what causes it but im assuming something misfires in development before hatching. Defect in organs involving food/ vitamin/ mineral absorption. Who knows. Shes cute though.

They are 12 weeks old and get that which falls out of the main feeder. That’s why I said some, because it’s not feed directly.

At 12 weeks and not growing, we are thinking that may be the sad truth. Just weren’t sure if there were any last ditch efforts we can make. She does pretty well eating the grower crumble. This is a first for us.

My first thought was maybe a bantam as well. But maybe not. Many years ago I did have a chick that didn't grow like its hatchmates, and when she was little she peeped ALL the time. The feed store replaced her for free, and told us to just keep the failure to thrive chick. She eventually grew to about (almost) full size. And she laid an egg here and there but she never laid consistently. She was just.... defective...

Add some of this to their feed for awhile, & see if a difference is made?
I use it all the time with my chicks.

X2 on the ultra kibble. It has a very high percentage of protein, so it's great for growth. It shouldn't be the main food source, but my chicks always love it.
