Who thinks the larger black one in front is a roo? And what breed? Little man is all the way in the back..he looks like a roadrunner!

By slate do you mean the coloring? (Novice here!) They are smooth and definitely not white, tan or peachy. I think he's definitely a roo. The biggest of all 9 and was getting aggressive at 8 weeks!

We're in Central FL and it's a gorgeous day! About 76 degrees and a slight cool breeze. They had a blast!

Oh yeah...he's GOT to be a cockerel! Look at those wattles! And yes, I meant slate coloring...are they greyish/taupish colored??

Yes exactly on the legs. We now have 10 hens, 8 confirmed pullets and 2 confirmed cockerels. Question, hubs wants to keep only Little Man, but would it be a problem to keep this guy, too, or would that be asking for too much trouble?? I just think he's going to be gorgeous and I hate the idea of getting rid of him.

I think you're gonna' have to wait and see. Lots of folks have more than one rooster in a flock, and it works out just fine. Others not so much. Being raised together will help, but of course is no guarantee. I know the "wait and see" approach doesn't really help, but at least you know there's hope.
