50 lb dog food bag with drainage holes stabbed in the bottom.

My large containers like that are all black plastic. Not a great idea to my thinking for root veg when the summers regularly stay above 95f/35c for 2-3 months with little rainfall. I can water but that doesn't add humidity to the atmosphere.
A dog food bag would be about 10 gallons. So 1 or 2 potatoes
Based on the 50 lb of dog food fits into two 5 gallon buckets here.

(zone 5a - 41 latitude) just planted cabbage, marigold, pepper and parsley seed last night. planting onion seed tonight. I'm also trying dwarf Moringas, but the seeds need to soak for 3 days. Hopeful about the morningas because the leaves are a complete protein, and I plan to feed them to the chickens and rabbits this winter. they will come inside under grow lights over the winter.

Bought Sarpo potatoes (blight resistant) from Wood Prairie farms. I've never grown potatoes before, but I'm going to give them a try. I'm going to grow them in cardboard boxes!

These came from the fall planting.

That's interesting. I only got the seeds for the protein content. I didn't realize there was a therapeutic affect as well. Maybe I'll have to make some tea with it

I'll plant some seeds like lettuce, beets, carrots etc. in between the transplants, probably over the next couple days.

We've got a load of 6 cubic yards of Dark Forest coming tomorrow for the raised beds, topdressing under the fruit trees, and to rototill into the new flower beds. Anyone want to come help move it all to the back one wheelbarrow at a time?
