babies wont eat TREATS!!!!

None of my batches of chicks have liked treats, either. They weren't even interested in scratch until they were old enough to be turned out to free range with the rest of the flock. I throw scratch every morning when I let them out of the hen house. No luck with meal worms, at all! But I did read on here this year about scrambled eggs and they love that. Even better, french toast! Cut into really small pieces. i haven't had any luck with yogurt, rice krispies, or cheerios, either. Don't worry. They'll be begging for treats soon enough!

My Light Brahmas LOVED treats from day 7. My red sex links would not touch a thing i offered them. One day when I had the two flocks free ranging together,i threw bread... That caught the little red girls onto the whole treat thing. Now they know anything I throw in the yard for them to eat will taste good. = ]

ours are just mutts... brown layers and they're just a week and they love oatmeal!! I only take a little as I don't want them to fill up on it, and we've only done it 2x's but boy do they come a running when I call them!!

My little 2 week old EE's loved treats, especially canned pumpkin. My 2 week old BC Marans could care less about it.

Other than worms and bugs, the only treat mine have seemed to like so far was strawberries, last night. I dipped them in a little of their chick starter and they were actually eating them out of my hand! It was so neat to see them fighting over the strawberries - I would have 2 or 3 going for the same strawberry at a time. Generally, these birds don't want anything to do with me.

It's alright. Mine are the same age, and turned their nose up to mealworms (chickens absolutely LOVE those)!

Other than meal worms, one of the first treats mine really went for was dandelion petals, cut off the flower so they're loose and easy to eat. Little baby chickie crack! And they're incredibly good for them. I found they look at anything with doubt unless it's in tiny bite size bits.

Once they're older, you'll be yanking your hands out in a blur to keep them from getting pecked off!

Ours didn't like yogurt until I mixed it with their food. Once I did that, and it warmed up a little bit, they went crazy over it. One kept thinking she had to stand right in the middle of it!
Do you feed them oatmeal dry or cooked? I have seen pictures on here of cooked oatmeal being offered when it is cold. Was just wondering about dry oatmeal.
When ours are outside, all they want to do is look for ants! That seems to be their favorite thing to do and they seem to be quite OCD about it. There is no distracting them!

I've been feeding dry oatmeal (minute oats, not the larger slow-cook oats) as a treat since they were just a couple weeks old. They like it. They don't love it. I'll be trying the warm oatmeal idea when it gets cold...
