I have a week old brahma chick that is making a crackling noise, its sounds respitory Im not sure. She is moving around, eating, drinking and playing with the other chicks just fine, Ive been reading about crackling sounds in baby chicks and Im kind of worried it could develop into something. Im so paranoid now, I lost 4 baby easter eggers from My Pet Chicken on Thursday, the trip was too much for them I guess, it was HEARTBREAKING. Anyway, I do have some Clavimox tablets from the vet for my cats ,but have no idea if that would be safe or what the amount would be. Any reccomendations? Should I buy some antibiotics maybe from the Tractor store if they have it?? Also whats a good thing or things to have on hand medicine wise for chickens in case of different types of emergencies?? Thanks!
