DEFINITELY smaller than 1/2 " ! LOL...i have 1/2 " hardware cloth in my bator and i ,thank GOD, did put drawer liner down on the floor before the hatch. The chicks walked right through the 1/2 to "off limit spaces though until i snatched them up and stuck their little chickpea behinds into a solid container to dry off . Needless to say, i was up all night staring into the incubator to be sure no one hatched out and was injured. I would absolutely recommend 1/4" hardware cloth ...martha

Rachel, I suggest NOT housing Buttons on wire. Hurts their feet. They need bedding.

mhwc56: We need pictures - even if they're blurry!!! LOL If you want good pictures of the little fuzzies you have to take around 100+ pictures and you might get a good one!

I just get a helper and they take the pictures while I try to make the little boogies hold still for 2 seconds flat!

If Rachel is BWQ's name, then we talked about this via private message. BWQ was talking about the size of wire for the sides of the brooder. It will be in a draft free basement, not outside. S/he has assured me that the floor will be solid.

Here is a picture of mine! They are now 2 weeks old but this was a newborn pic! They are so tiny and adorable! I got 3 that hatched so I will need to hatch a few more as one will need a friend!
