Ok so I have new baby chicks less then 24 hours old I have them in with a couple older chicks so I had a chick waterer in with them I was keeping a close eye on them. I looked over and saw one in the water I got it out as quickly as I could I think it stopped breathing but I gave it little chest compressions and did what I saw they do with puppies to get the fluid out of their lungs it started breathing again and was trying to make a funny noise. I then tried to warm it up and have it now as I type cuddled under my shirt it is peeping loudly but not opening its eyes Will it make it what else can I do for it?

I would think that since you got to it right away and it's breathing okay now it should be fine. It doesn't sound like it wasn't breathing for very long until you got to it. As long as you dry it and warm it up and make sure it as a heat lamp, I would think it should be fine. Good job doing CPR on a baby chick!!

I put him back in the incubator for a bit so he could dry and now he is content with his hatch mates and none the worse for wear it seems whewww

I am super shocked but now I can't even pick him or her out from the others and it was literally dead I pulled it out of the water and it gasped and went completely still I had to stimulate it to even get it to breathe and it couldn't peep I wasn't sure if using the puppy manuver would be to rough but knew that It was dead if I didn't so I did it and kept drying the water that was coming out of its nose off so that it didn't re inhale it and finally weakly it started peeping abd as it went on it got stronger until it was protesting loudly poor little guy or girl.
