Baby chick bathroom problem

Hello my name is Alan I have owned chickens before and raised baby chicks before, but we have a little issue one of our chick’s out of 11. When she goes to the bathroom she chirps very loud and shakes a bunch and some poop comes out, but every time it has to go it makes that sound the others don’t do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does she have pasty butt? If not her internals might not be functioning properly. Try taking a long sock fill it with rice or beans, tie a knot at the top, and microwave it for about a minute or two. Check the temperature with your hand to make sure it’s not too hot. Then try and get her to lay down on it. The sock will act as a heating pad for her tummy.

It might be her diet then. Consider adding a tiny drop of apple cider vinegar and dilute it with about half a cup of distilled water and feeding it to her. Or try feeding her a tiny bit of plain yogurt diluted in water.

Ok I will try it, yeah the other chicks won’t even lay with her.

Does her vent (bottom) look like the others? Pink, clean, and dry? Or is it red, moist and sore looking? The behavior you describe sounds like it is painful for her to poop. How old is she? Can you post pictures of the chick, her bottom, and her poop if possible? Is it possible that when you cleaned her some of her vent feathers got pulled away and it is painful there now? If so, dab a little vaseline or plain neosporin on the area, the kind that does not have pain medication in it and see if that helps. Try to give the chick some tiny pieces of chilled coconut oil to peck at. Other oils to try orally would be mineral, castor, or olive oil. Just use 1/4 tsp orally once a day until the chick is able to poop without struggling. Be careful to give only a drop at a time and let it swallow. The chick needs to be drinking a lot of water since dehydration or too much heat in the brooder can cause constipation.
