What should I do, she has bleeding either side of her face and I have seen one other chick peck at it?

I tried to separate but she just cries and wants to go back with the others. She is in there now.

I have put her and one other in a box and watching for any pecking. I don't have a red light and don't have another proper box/brooder. Should be separated until there is no visible redness? is that a couple of days sort of thing?

Thanks again, this is first time with babies an only had pair of layers before and less to worry about.

Oh, the second one just started pecking the spot :(

Have you cleaned the areas? Doesnt look like they are actively bleeding. You may be able to get the blood off. Then use some food coloring to dye some honey blue. The honey is antibacterial and the blue will prevent pecking

I know!! Any chance you could separate her but still leave her on sight of her sister. I try to get all my chicks used to being help so if they do need some TLC they aren't so upset while I'm holding them. I try to snuggle them close to me to keep them warm and cozy. Being so late theyshould settle down and sleep. The injuries dont look serious. Put a little blue honey on each spot with a qtip and try putting her back in while they are sleeping. She will probably just go over and.plop herself down on the pile

Ah its lunch time here.😁

I have out some wire to divide a section in the brooder and put her in there. They kept flying out the box also.

I have honey but no blue dye. Another options.

If you can separate with the wire you could probably just put a dab of honey on there for healing and aee about putting her back in with her sisters in a few hours.

Sorry for not replying, been building their coop.

Thanks for the help, she is in with the others and there is no peaking that I see. The wound appears fine.

Thanks again.
