Baby chick can't swallow.

I know this thread is a few years old but I was hoping to see a positive update of the outcome? I have a days old chick exhibiting similar symptoms and I’m giving her my all, hoping she makes it.

Th e OP hasn't been back on line since they started this thread.
I am not sure but i am willing to be that poor chick did not live much longer after that video was taken.

Did you hatch your chick?
Have you forced anything in to its mouth?

Mine came from a hatchery. She was weak from the day she arrived and I noticed her odd behavior right away. I checked her mouth (as much as I could see) and didn’t notice anything stuck. I guess it is possible she got a blockage somehow. I really had hopes she would make it, but sadly, she passed last week.

I had a chick exhibiting this same weird lurching-swallowing behavior, smallest of the bunch and pretty lethargic. She seemed to perk up a bit after i fed her some egg yolk from a pipette but passed the next day.
