Baby chick just hatched and has green goo on its butt

My last chick hatched today and has green goo on his butt, is this pasty butt?
If so do I need to wash it off?

I have seen that on my chicks before...I think it is what's left of the placenta? I know in dogs it is green lol. I have also had them take a little poop while still hatching. I would leave it and let it come off on its own.

It's not pasty-butt, that happens when they are up and walking, and the poop collects on the bum, dries, and blocks them from being able to go any more.

Pasty butt happens when a chick is to cold. If your hatch is over just use a Q-tip with warm water on it and gently remove it. It probably is just poo.

the yolk is essentially a placenta and thats pretty much what it is...it happens.

To be specific, that green mass is what is left of the Allantois. Basically it's developmental poop.

it is normal for the first poop after hatch to be green

it's okay, it's normal. it will dry up and fall off just wait no need to worry
the green stuff is poop it made when it was still in the shell.
