She
.
She has food and water i brought to her and has drank water and eaten a tiny bit of food
she is one to two days old I just got her and four other chicks in the mail from my pet chicken when I opened the box she was upside down and the others were standing on her I thought she was doa but I moved them off of here and I picked here up and she was cold and lightly peeping [/QUOTE]
Sounds like she got josselled around in transport, poor girl.
I got my six from MPC as well, and two of them passed within 3 days of arrival (one on the first night). Two more almost followed, but thankfully I live with an ornithologist (handy) and his gf is an er vet tech, so by day 2 I had a lot of expert help. Unfortunately they're both on a camping trip, otherwise I'd get some advice from them. But I can tell you they checked their legs and other bits for evidence of broken bones, and had us feeding them sugar water via eyedropper every 15-20min. This helped the next two pull through, and they had their own isolated brooder with a nice heat source and a stuff animal to cuddle up to. I pretty much kept the brooder in my lap while I watched tv or browsed the net, and eyedropped a drop or two of sugar water (and some sort of vitamin liquid his gf brought, I can't remember the name), and they bounced right back... but the other two were too far gone, and passed away.
It's very hit and miss with shipping. Some make it, some don't, regardless of the promises they make =/

I also ordered my four chicks from MPC though none of them seemed ill. Let's hope for the best.I had ordered six and one was doa I just can't loose minny she is the sweetest little chick I've ever had
My biggest issue with MPC was that my mother specifically picked out the arrival dates of Aug 12-15th, since she was on vacation the week prior. Low and behold, I get a panicked call from my little brother (still at home) on Aug 6th at 10am saying the post office down there had their chickens (they called him around 9:30, he was trying to get through to my mom first). I was pet sitting 2 dogs in addition to my own who couldn't be left alone together (the two I was sitting would fight if not supervised), so I had to get ready and toss them in the car, and drive to her post office (~1.5hrs in morning traffic), wait half an hour just to get through the line, grab the chicks and go in the car... with three curious dogs, which certainly didn't help their stress, even safe inside their little box, drive BACK another 1.5hrs, stop at the farm supply to get feed, grit, heat bulb, waterer, feeder, bedding... get home (now 2:30p), set everything up while the dogs sit in front of the bathroom door (chicks eating in the bathtub, poor guys were so hungry/thirsty), and finally get them into my makeshift brooder around 3:15pm. They arrived at the post office, according to the lady, around 6am, but nobody called until 9:30, and all in all, if the chicks had arrived when they were supposed to, my mother would have picked them up (and went to her place, about 10min from the post office). But since she wasn't expecting them for another week, she hadn't even set up the brooder yet. I'm pretty sure all of that contributed into the deaths and near deaths our poor chickies had. I was pretty disappointed in that kind of a screw up, but MPC was quick to refund the chicks that passed away. Hopefully yours had a much smoother shipping dayI also ordered my four chicks from MPC though none of them seemed ill. Let's hope for the best.
