I've gone a little crazy taking pics of our "birds" lately.
Can't believe that when I was started on this venture over Christmas 2010 that I didn't take any pics of the 15 Bantam chicks that I was given. Quite a number of those made it to our dinner table, with 3 hens hatching out "clutches" of what I think was mixed birds from the original 15... Some of those were lost to flying off, some practiced flying by landing in our Dog Pens - never to emerge again. Right in May had one of the last Bantams lost - not sure if she flew off or flew into our dog pen - no evidence.
Even when I got our 1st 6 Production Reds in Feb 2011 and then in April 2012 our 4 EEs and 2 CMs... So I have few if any pics from 2011, 2012 and most of 2013. In December 2013, I got 4 young birds - 2 of which were roosters. The two hens were with me (flighty as all get out) until April - then suddenly disappeared. Not sure if they became hawk bait due to their colaration (white) or if they just were able to fly off. The rooster doesn't seem able to fly well - but he CAN get into the tallest rafters in our barn. The LF is supposed to be a "super layer" - AmeraucanaXleghorn. The 2nd is some type of OEG Bantam... He was given to me when I showed interest in him - he was fighting the guys' other roosters. I thought he was cute/pretty. He's developed into quite the young man - and I'm pretty sure is the sire of most of the chicks that just hatched on May 23rd. Thru BYC, I found Blue Ameraucanas and purchased 8 which I was able to "graft" onto this Banty hen, too. So she's "mama" to 17 chicks right now.
Here's some current pics -

and some of the flock with both roosters - then bantam boy (Roo) in the back right with the black/red tail sticking up above the PR hen; and the white A/LH cross to the left (Din-Din). Actually only 1 large hen isn't in this pic and the bantam hen (Browny) that is currently free ranging too... and the bantam hen above with the chicks (Blackie). Fluffy (another mixed bantam hen) went missing sometime between the 25th of May and the 5th of June (hmm - mad and went ranging when I cleaned out the carport where she and Browny had been roosting?)...
