so cute, what sort of wire is that holding them in?

I used 2 sheets of steel lath folded at 90 degrees and tied together with zip ties. Just temporary until I get my permanent pen ready. I tie wrapped a black trash bag over the top to cover and shade most of it with an opening large enough for me to sit in with my head poked out. Glad I had it covered because a hawk actually buzzed my head while I was in there with the camera.

They're about $7 at Home Depot...

oh so true. But once they are here it's well worth the wait. Wish you the best of luck. Mine are due july 8. I have 5 cochin bantam, 8 Sultan bantam and 12 polish eggs. And am thinking next will be cream legbar, isbar, and some maran's.

The comb and wattles are much larger than the others and are quite pink/red already.

Thanks. I thought that's what that was. Great idea. Wish I had done that first. I would add a roof with same stuff, hawk and cat proof for temporary digs.

Had my house warming party yesterday, and was holding waffles and frita on my shoulder. Nugget, who was being held by a friend of mine, decided that she just HAD to be with her siblings.... so she flew over and roosted on my head. Silly chickens.
