Baby Chick Pictures!!!!! POST!

My son has informed me that his goal is to have at least one of every breed. The chicken bug has got a hold of him tight.

As far as baby chicks go, we've got 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 3 Black Australorps, 13 Dark Cornish, 2 Blue Andalusians, 4 Single Comb Delawares and 2 Single Comb Brown Leghorns. So, 27 all together. I love them all!

Put the eggs into lockdown, even though I'm sure it's half a day early. But my last two incubations they tried to hatch 2-3 days early...

Wow that's a lot already... Is the dark Cornish chicks meat birds ...

We have a separate flock of Hamburgs too, down to 10 of them because of a bobcat who won't go away. We don't even let them free range right now because of it. :-(

The dark Cornish aren't meat birds, we haven't worked up the courage to buy birds for meat yet. Lol!

We just love chickens and want to have a variety.

the same thing happened to me.. I was lucky not to have any hatch while the egg turner was still on... I took them out and set them in the lockdown incubator and. While I was preparing the brooder box... I I heard chirping to my surprise they were all starting to hatch....
