We got 5 from 8. These were taken yesterday (hatch day) but I only managed to get a picture of 4 of the 5.

They are already scratching like professionals in the broody run with mumma, tugging at the grass, hanging off her wattles etc

Welcome to the crazy! we went from 6 chicks last year, with 3 hens surviving from our rubbermade days, to a family project of building a 4x8x2 brooder condo and 50 chicks this year!!!

yes they are about double the size of the buff orpingtons that we got at the same time. I think they are a dual purpose bird.

Well that's good to know, I was concerned that we were given the Cornish Cross meat birds. They look identical but I read that they usually don't survive past 10 months or so because of their size. I have other breeds that are dual purpose and aren't nearly this size. I'm already attached to them because they are so sweet. Didn't want to give them away.
