I'm not seeing a beard, and even my BR chicks have dark spots on their legs/feet. The outlook is pretty good! Now you just kind of have to wait and see. Glad I could help.

Her egg will be the final judge, obviously. Bet even if she turns out to be 'just' an Olive Egger I won't be devastated; after all I bought her under the belief that she was another Americana.

Question: Since they are part Marans, are OEs more prone [than an Americana] to get broody? That was one of the reasons I wanted one (the chocolate eggs were a bonus

These are my 12 days old Caramel Queens (Light Sussex x Welsummer) I brought them home at 3 days old from the hatchery. We have 35. :) We are first time chick owners. They are so cute and super curious. We have a few friendly ones that enjoy a good cuddle.
