Finally...the chicks are outside!!!!

This is how I've been greeted for the last two mornings. They seem content.

They immediately go to foraging as they make their way out of the run and into the yard.


I'll need to hit the feed store after work this afternoon, the big girls are getting low on food and they can get persnickety.

Our Black Stars aren't named yet. My kids picked out two (Penguin and Softie) but I can't tell the 6 chicks apart yet!

So far they are settling in well and Blanche is the most peppy of the bunch. We'll be getting the other half next week.

I love my light brahmas @kekstrom! Everytime I go and sit in the younger outdoor chick enclosure, I am sure to have at least one brahma on my lap instantly (I have five). They were the first to break the ice for lap-sitting too...although now everyone wants in on the action!

ETA: I really enjoy my GSLs and EEs too. Except the EE cockerel has a habit of always pecking the freckles on my arm...hard.

My BR has it out for my freckles! And my painted toenails. Grrrrrr.

Blanche curiously watched my daughters dance around the living room tonight. Sweet and curious.
